My Arrival at the Project House

I am finally here. My plane came in around 8:30, and after purchasing a Visa and negotiating traffic, I arrived at the project house around 10:00 pm last night. My driver Spero picked me up at the Entebbe Airport, and we had the most harrowing ride home. I can't wait until rush hour. Here, two lane roads become 3 to 4 lane roads. Then there are the motorbikes, bicyclists, and pedestrians dashing all over the street. Of course, the potholes here are the size of a Camry. Oh, and did I mention that drivers signal to each other through a complicated medley of honking and flashing their brights at each other. I’m actually fairly certain that while I am here I will see someone get hit by a car.

Once at the house, a most pleasant armed guard let me in. I found dinner waiting for me in the oven—spicy chicken, broiled potatoes, and cooked tomatoes. Did I mention the chicken was on the bone? People, I was so hungry I ate every last morsel of chicken. I’m surprised too. I'm off to bed soon-- I'm visiting the lab in the morning. First I have to padlock myself in upstairs between 1” diameter bars with a chain that had links the size of my fists.
