Safari, ho!

Nothing out of the ordinary happened today. Saw the Prime Minister again. I had some kind of huge headache when I got home from work, so I took one hell of a nap. Right now I'm packing for my trip to Murchison Falls. It's supposed to be wicked hot up there, but I'm a little bewildered at what to pack because there are a lot of tse tse flies, and I don't want to leave myself open for attack. I'm quite looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow-- I don't have to be to Red Chille Hideaway until 8! That being said, I will be out of internet contact until Sunday evening, so have no worries about there being no blog until that time. Hopefully I'll have lots of great adventure stories to tell then.

The first picture is for the scientists. If you look
closely, the open air structure contains all the -80o C and liquid nitrogen freezers. There are always a chorus of low temperature alarms going off because it is so hot and humid here. Next is my holding cell at the project house. Not even the ghost of Idi Amin could get through those bars. Lastly is a picture of me showing off my new pashmina. 15,000 schillings, which is about $9. Sure beats the $80 pasminas they sell at Nordstroms!

Til Sunday...G.

Whats up with the bars? Who else is staying the the building with you? Or is that to protect you from the flesh eating storks?

I think the bars are a throwback from the days of Idi Amin when the city was really dangerous because of him and his henchmen. Now I think it is just there to make meek Americans feel better.
